I need to talk about this.

In this scene, Nagare tells Fushimi that he’s best suited for Jungle. I don’t think he’s wrong. Fushimi left to his own devices in middle school? I don’t think it’s unreasonable to believe he’d have fallen in with Jungle. Consider the way he answers when asked why he made his way to J-rank. “I wanted to see what would happen. I wanted to see if it would change my way of thinking.” To LSW readers, this is going to sound familiar.

I don’t think Fushimi pulled this reasoning out of his ass - it’s how he honestly used to think back then. And it would certainly fall in line with what Hisui knows of him. The “it’s better than dealing with things like relationships” line also matches the situation where Hisui initially invited Fushimi to join Jungle, because he was struggling in his relationship with Yata and his feeling of exclusion from the “happy family” relationships in Homra.

Even under those circumstances, Fushimi chooses Scepter 4.

That’s so important: he CHOSE Scepter 4.

Here, again, even though it’s possible that Hisui is right and that Jungle suits his personality better as someone who doesn’t like cooperating with others… Fushimi still chooses Scepter 4. Munakata Reisi is his King. The Blue Clan is his home. He has precious comrades there. Even in this situation, where death seems to be a likely penalty for this choice, he still makes it, and all indications point to it not even being a difficult choice.

I’m so fucking proud of how much he’s grown since he left Homra.
